Elizabeth and Ralph, best friends and business partners, who together own and run Fattoria Valle Magica.
Originally from Belfast, Ralph began establishing the farm in 2016 having purchased a completely abandoned area of land, that had not been cultivated for over half a century. He was joined by Elizabeth, from California, in 2019. Together they have created an agricultural business that focuses on the ethical rearing of rare Italian breeds and production of artisan products. More importantly, they have opened the farm as a visitor destination to allow visitors, and also school groups, to get back in touch with nature, taste food as it once tasted and to learn about alternative, natural, and ethical ways of farming. If you want to learn more about what Ralph and Elizabeth do and hopefully meet them in person while enjoying an unforgettable day out, then book one of the hosted experiences or events today! |
Why?At Fattoria Valle Magica we believe everyone should have the opportunity to eat healthy, naturally produced food as it would have tasted before mass production, knowing the land has been used in a sustainable way and that animals have been reared with care and have had a good life in their natural environment.

How?We focus on breeding and conserving rare heritage breeds, no longer used in modern commercial farming. These breeds grow more slowly and live self-sufficient lives in their natural environment. Coupled with this, we focus on natural and sustainable farming methodologies and avoid the use of medication and chemicals

What?We run an ethical, sustainable and eco-friendly farm 650+ meters up in the Abruzzese mountains, positioned between Abruzzo's three national parks. We produce small-batch, premium products in collaboration with artisans with generations of experience.
