Use of Heritage Breeds: We use the traditional breeds that have historically roamed these mountains for thousands of years; breeds that are adapted to the local climate and ecosystem, thereby having an overall lower impact on and ability to live naturally on the land.
Locally Sourced Feed & Suppliers: Our unique food mix is sourced from neighbouring cultivators, not only minimising our environmental impact, but also reinvesting into our local community.
Working in Harmony with Nature: Our farm is situated in an area of natural beauty close to three national parks. We design our processes to recreate symbiotic relationships that would occur in natural ecosystems, thereby minimising any potentially negative impact on the flora and fauna we are privileged to have surrounding us.
Strive to Minimise Waste: We constantly strive to find ways to minimise single-use plastic waste, but also look to minimise any waste so that our use of all resources is as efficient as possible.
Eat less meat, but of higher quality: Traditionally, families reared a few animals for their own consumption and only ate meat on special occasions. By contrast, in the last 50 years Italian consumption of meat per person has increased by over 300%, leading to an unsustainable burden on our ecosystem. As small scale farmers we encourage people to eat less meat but of a higher quality, creating a sustainable and more pleasurable experience of enjoying food.
Farm to Fork: We are a self sustaining business that encourages people to minimise their use of high-carbon-footprint products. We sell the majority of our products at the farm and only sell through a minimum number of select, predominantly local partners.
Low Carbon Footprint: We use local suppliers and currently distribute exclusively within the region we live in. We are 100% powered by renewable solar energy and the majority of the work done on the farm is done manually through our own blood, sweat and tears.
